20 MOMENTS of MADE at the Theatre Royal

20 MOMENTS of MADE

...at the Theatre Royal

November 25th & 27th, 2025

For over two decades, MADE has embodied artistic excellence, creative resilience, and the strength of mature women (and men) performing professionally. From Tasmania to Japan, their work has captivated audiences and challenged expectations.

In late November 2025 artists, class members and industry supporters of MADE were invited to mark this milestone by joining us to celebrate MADE’s remarkable 20-year journey with a selection of excerpts from our rich performance history, performed by 26 dancers. What began as a small core ensemble has flourished into a statewide community of 30 MADE Ensemble members and over 160 class participants.

This one-off showcase event was a unique experience with audience guided across six public spaces within the Theatre Royal to view excerpts from 20 years of major annual works. From entranceways to foyers, to staircases and the open atrium, the Theatre Royal very kindly lent us their venue in-kind, so that MADE could present this expansive body of work across multiple sites.

20 Moments of MADE was ably managed and presented by Sue Hayes and Shirley Gibson with valued support from Annette Downs, Lucinda Toynbee Wilson, other MADE volunteers and Front of House staff from the Theatre Royal.

These glowing words from MADE’s patron Dr. Julie Rimes offer a glimpse of this auspicious performance:
What a fabulous show last night. It was beautifully done, creatively put together and thoroughly enjoyable in every way. And it was wonderful seeing the costumes at close quarters - the latest lot from Queenstown were particularly stunning and the gorgeous wedding dresses were beautiful of course. I could have sat there all night, so many more I wanted to see. And the setting was magnificent too, and the use of the different spaces was very innovative and very MADE. Well done, and a big cheer all round to many many more performances.’
