DANCECRAFT 2025
MADE Ensemble Skills Development Intensive
& Community Workshops
August 21st - 24th, 2025
In 2025, MADE offered a 3-day ‘deeper dive’ into rehearsal and performance skills that was specifically designed for the MADE Ensemble and for those who have formally expressed interest in being in the Ensemble.
For this opportunity, MADE invited outstanding professional dancer and mature artist Daryl Brandwood to join us for 3-4 days in August. Daryl, based in Western Australia, is an experienced teacher of mature dancers and offered classes in company class as well as workshops that encompassed both learning and creating choreography, and also improvisation. MADE also offered free community workshops, available to adults of all ages and very well attended. MADE greatfully acknowledges the contribution form The City Of Hobart.
About Daryl Brandwood
Daryl was born in Perth, Australia and began his dance training at West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He joined West Australian Ballet in 1990 and was a member of the Company intermittently until 2012. Daryl also danced with the Australian Dance Theatre and was a soloist with The Australian Ballet Company, performing in works by William Forsythe and Jiri Kylian. He performed with Balletmet in the USA, performing with them at the Joyce Theatre in New York. Daryl’s career highlights include performing the principal couple in George Balanchine’s (Diamonds) from “Jewels”, the role of Puck in Barry Moreland’s “A Midsummer Nights Dream” and Twyla Tharp’s “In The Upper Room”. Daryl is also an experienced choreographer. For MADE performers, this was an exceptional chance for mature dance practice development.
