What is the energy of connection? A pulsating push and pull, a tension and release of woven threads, a process of making and unmaking, a cat's cradle, a creative matrix that reflects the forces mirrored in body and land.

Flowing down Orr St, the MADE dancers offered Weaving Vibrant as an exploration of deeper hidden elemental agency, the vitality that moulds and shapes communities and individuals within them. Weaving Vibrant drew inspiration from women as weavers and storytellers across time and place. MADE danced the deep ties that connect us, reweaving ourselves back into the fabric of life, the tapestry of the universe. 

Audiences found their vantage points on Crib Road, and followed the dancers for a new experience each day of The Unconformity Festival 2025.

Rebecca Cannon has worked as collaborative colleague and tutor with MADE since 2024. Rebecca has a rich interdisciplinary arts practice that combines the visual, sculptural, textile arts with movement forms drawn from dance, martial arts and movement therapies. A qualified Dance movement therapist (DMT) since 2024 after studies with Dance Therapy New Zealand she is currently working as DMT within Creative Therapies Tasmania specialising in neurodivergence, trauma and delayed development in children and adults. Her practice includes an ongoing mentorship since 2020 in Authentic Movement from Connor Kelly.

Rebecca is also a qualified pilates instructor of 18 years through Pilates International from the Aligned for Life studios Melbourne. She has run a private pilates studio for 10 years as Rebecca Cannon Pilates after working for established studios for several years.

Her dance and choreographic practice in recent years has included facilitating on going community dance workshops in Devonport North west under the banner Mersey Dance Collective. This included a series run in conjunction with RANT Tasmania in 2023.
