Relâche: The Last Dance on Earth
Odeon Theatre
'The world is on fire and Second Echo Ensemble think the world needs cheering up. So we are going to give you a black and white ball!'
It's a wake, an illegal gathering
and we are being cancelled.
Come to the ball, in the memory of Dada
and the possibility of being anywhere else.
Do you have a seat at the table?
Audiences step into a world of avant-garde performance, experimental film, orchestral music, digital animation, and immersive theatre for two nights only at the Odeon Hobart, 27-28 February 2025. The show tackles contemporary themes such as cancel culture, personal agency, and absurdity.
Directed by Creative Director Kelly Drummond Cawthon, with choreography by Assistant Choreographer and SEE Core Artist Aidan Chick, Relâche brings together the exceptional talents of SEE, Mature Dance Artists Experience (MADE), Tasmanian Youth Classical Ballet Company (TYCBC), showcasing local artists Uncle Jim Everett-puralia meenamattaa, Sabio Designs, Nicole Simms-Farrow, musical director Michael Fortescue, conductor Alexander Rodrigues, and femme musical cabaret artists Miettes.
